Two more people have been arrested related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Police detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
