Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a wide array of characters, and a exciting storyline showcasing divine entities, demons, and dark forces increasing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Key plot points for the third episode of the new season are included.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to embark on their separate journey, separate from the other two tables.
This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering a large ensemble, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at the same party would be impossible.
This explains, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look mismatched, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team understands precisely where to go next after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose demise started the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, breaking into the secret base, attacking Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.
Casimir then settled his debts and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each character has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and warns that it is a nasty place.
- The strong character and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the party reach areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The character are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The healer turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by the family.
This results in them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in search of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the recent installment’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight cast members to form the Seekers and Schemers tables.
Fans can anticipate learning which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the season’s final introductory chapter, released on October 24.
