Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, Recognized For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
Stateside entertainer Finn, who appeared in iconic programs including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in LA this Monday following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, according to news outlets.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones said in a statement.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a social organizer known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on several hit series, such as:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.
"He taught, supported, and inspired many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he shared online.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his three kids, and his family.
