I'll dominate 'serious fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be shown live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami venue on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I will damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather criticized ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.
Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making substantial paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.
