Soccer Analyst Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats before the international hiatus, however can the English top division leaders recover against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.

In the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' new album, the new release, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Life

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer side," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is already more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be quite tight, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple games - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' sole on the road win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno was still Forest coach.

So, what on earth do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.

My son advised me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

They have got lots of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of last month.

However I am not choose that. Instead, I really need to carry on opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but they have still been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but could they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
